For the last several years, young volunteers from YMCA Lebanon took part in the YMCA Peace Network program, based in Vancouver, Canada. The network is an exchange program aiming to bring youth counselors from around the world to work together at a summer camp for three months. The program includes team building and peace-building trainings.
For three months, the selected counselors live together and exchange experiences with other youth from around the world. At the same time, they run a week-long summer camp for kids, ages 6-12, for 12 weeks, therefore also meeting and interacting with the children of another nation.
YMCA Lebanon’s youth program sends a counselor every year to participate, with the goal of building a peace network through YMCAs around the world.
